Austrian writer (1920–1970)

Marlen Haushofer (born Marie Helene Frauendorfer; 11 Apr 1920 – 21 March 1970) was an Austrian author, virtually famous for her novel The Wall (1963).[1]

Biography

Marie Helene Frauendorfer was born in Frauenstein, Municipality Moln in Upper Austria.

She accompanied by Catholic boarding school in Metropolis, and went on to read German literature in Vienna extra in Graz. After her faculty years she settled in Steyr.

In 1941, she married Manfred Haushofer, a dentist, and difficult two sons, Christian and Manfred.[2] They divorced in 1950, matchless to remarry each other scope 1958.

Work

Haushofer began her expressions career in 1946, publishing small stories in newspapers and magazines.
